East-West School Staff
Our school staff consists of 5instructors for our core couses (plus several special subject instructors).  All have extensive backgrounds in education, experience, training, and teaching. They bring their particular expertise to the classroom to provide a unique learning experience. 
School Director
Marilyn McGrath, the founder of East-West in 1989, is the School Director of East-West School of Massage Therapy. She graduated with a BS teaching degree from Albright College. Her bodywork career path has focused on Therapeutic Massage, Aromatherapy, and Shiatsu. She also instructs Chair Massage and Polarity. She is a member of Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals.

Rod McGrath, Sr, is a graduate of Lehigh University with a BS in Engineering. He has been teaching bodywork for 10 years, with enphasis in Shiatsu Therapy, Chinese Medicine and T’ai Chi/Qigong. He has additional studies in Reflexology, Soft Tissue Release, and Myofascial Release. He is a member of the Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals, and is a nationally  certified instructor of Zen Shiatsu in AOBTA, American Organization of Bodywork Therapies of Asia.
Rod McGrath, Jr, is a graduate of Albright College(BS, Bilology), and Thomas Jefferson University (MS, Microbiology). He has served in the medical corps of the US Army and in the US Peace Corps. He is an experienced instructor in Anatomy & Physiology, Reflexology, and Thai Yoga. He is a member of ABMP and is a certified practitioner of Zen Shiatsu in AOBTA, American Organization of Bodywork Therapies of Asia.
Heidi Bauder graduated from East-West School of Massage Therapy in 2000. She has attended Reading Area Community College and intends to continue her education at Kutztown University.  She has additonal training in Myofascial Release, and teaches Therapeutic Massage, Deep Tissue Therapy, Chair Massage, and Reflexology.  Heidi is a member of  ABMP, Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals.
Mary Meyers has been a certified massage therapist practicing in Berks County for 5 years and is a graduate of East-West School of Massage Therapy.  Her professional history includes significant medical experience in Cardiology and Orthopedic/Physical & Ocupational Therapy fields. She also represents the American Council on Exercise as a Certified Personal Trainer & Fitness Instructor. As a representative of the American Red Cross, she is a certified instructor of Lifeguarding, CPR, First Aid, swimming lessons & water fitness.  She specializes in Sports, Deep, Therapeutic Massage as well as LOMI-LOMI (Hawaiian Temple Bodywork).  She is affiliated with Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals, and the Pennsylvania Massage Therapy Association.
